You would think that there is a huge lapse in house building with the amount of time it's taken from my last post. If I was you, I would be thinking that something is delaying the progress. Well that is not the case. The weather has been beautiful and there has been A LOT of work being done. What is the hold up then you ask? Well I named this blog Ridges, Rafters and Right-of-ways for a reason. Those were three things that I knew where going to be a huge part of this process.
A few weeks ago we got the rafters for the house. Sounds easy, a truck shows up with already fabricated rafters. That truck lifts them into place and they get nailed on. Well in true "us" fashion we can't do anything the easy way.
One thing we loved about this plan was the roof. It isn't just a straight roof from one end to the next. It has lots of ridges. Looks beautiful BUT, makes for a lot of difficult cutting, shaping, forming, etc. Putting the roof on has taken forever! My lovely work crew is about ready to blow their roof if you know what I mean. At this point we only have the bump out and the garage left to be put together. I will post pictures soon. The pink elephant in the room though (You know the one no one is talking about) is the fact that the whole roof still needs to be shingled then. (Shhhhhh you didn't hear me say that!)
