Strange
Every day I walk through my house. I take pictures and look at pictures of my house. I am asked to make decisions about my house. But I still don't feel like it's my house. It's strange really. Steve has always been a project guy. He always had a project and I always hung around watching the project take shape. This is no different. I feel like it is a project. One that is beautiful and amazing. But I don't have that feeling that I will in fact be living there...actually living there...in a few months. I keep telling myself that reality but it just doesn't seem to sink in. Oddly there have been a few occasions where the feeling slips in. All have been in moments when I am cleaning it. For instance the other day I was shop vaccing all the saw dust. In that moment it felt like a reality, like this was my house and I was living in it. I know it is coming and I am super excited. Here's hoping when move in day arrives I finally get the feeling that this is home.

It's Heating Up in here!
Or maybe cooling down, I'm not sure. Either way, this duct work will bring us some much appreciated heating and cooling on those hot/cold, summer/winter months.
Smurfs?
Nope, no smurfs here. Those little blue things are the electrical boxes. I'm picturing Tim Allen on Home Improvement saying More Power, Arr, arrr, arrr.
Going Down...
The steps to the basement are in! I also worked on these. I sanded and polyed them 4 times. That is why they are covered in paper right now. We didn't want anyone to scuff them all up during the rest of the building process. But at least 2 of the 3 floors are connected now!
I Am In LOVE
Here is the view from our "right of way".
And here is the view from the back. Notice our windows are in now. Again, I am in LOVE!!!!!!

Squeeky Clean
The tubs are here, the tubs are here. After weeks of debate and looking for blue ones, the showers finally got ordered and arrived. I am super excited to have a shower with a seat and NO door. I can't wait to just have a curtain again!
This is ours...
This is the girls... (yes the label comes off)

Still Helping
This little girl is just such a great helper. She is very interested in being a part of this building process. I'm so proud of her hard work. (I feel bad that there aren't very many pictures of Lyndsy. But truthfully, every time she is asked to help, it includes tears, grumping, etc. I wouldn't call that a Kodak moment. hee hee)
The garage
The garage is finally taking shape. up till now it was just a huge hole. Now you can start to see where I get to park my car. INSIDE!!!! Here's hoping Santa will bring me a garage door opener!
Interior Decorating
It's hard to take pictures inside because you can still see straight through all the walls but here are a few pics of the inside.
This is looking from my master bedroom into our master bathroom. Steve's closet is on the left, mine is on the right.
This is the view from my dining room. This is looking out the doors to where a porch will someday sit.

Capping
Ever go to the beach and see all the nice houses with their big looking windows? Well that is because they are all capped in white. Well we don't like white but we LOVE blue. Soooo we are capping all the windows in blue. It is going to be awesome!
Piecing it all together
I LOVE stone. We started with just wanting stone like this around the bottom. But after seeing how great it looks, I think we are going to do the whole front of the house under the porch too. it is just gorgeous!
The loft
Remember all those beautiful boards I worked on? Well here is their permanent home. They are going to sit atop these beautiful cherry stained beams. Who beautified those wonderful beams you ask...Well the answer would be me and my dad. I was super thrilled with how they turned out.
Here is the view from our entry way looking up.
And here is Jillian trying out her new dance floor. aka the loft.

Yep I work too!
Yes, it's true. Even though there aren't any pictures of me I have in fact helped on this house project. Here I have some evidence. See all 59 of these boards. Yep that's right, I sanded then polyed, sanded, then polyed again. All 59 of them! Don't they look beautiful!
Here I am just glowing with accomplishment!

3D
I always wanted a house with dimension. I never wanted a flat faced, big, giant, rectangle. This front porch matched with the back living room gives this house such a great shape! Man, I am LOVING the look that it has now that the front porch is on!!!!!
Look at that view!
From the pond up...
From the house down to the pond...
Ignore the big dirt pile. It is only temporary!

We Are Beaming!
The beams needed their own little holder thingy.
The completed look. Minus the roofing.
